# Web Analytics

4 organic-search GA4 metrics every month — sessions, engaged sessions, average session duration, events per session — filtered to organic traffic only.

> **Organic search behaviour from GA4 — what users actually do once they land on the site.**

The Web Analytics workflow pulls Google Analytics 4 organic search performance every month. 4 metrics flow into the workspace: organic sessions, engaged sessions, average session duration, and events per session. The combination shows volume (sessions), depth (engaged sessions), time spent (duration), and interaction richness (events per session) — all scoped to organic search traffic only.

## How It Works

The workflow uses the GA4 Data API with OAuth2 read-only access. On the same monthly cron as SEO Metrics, it requests both the current month and the prior month in a single API call (GA4 supports multiple date ranges per request) and filters by the Organic Search default channel group. The 4 metrics are extracted, deltas calculated, and the result upserted to the workspace.

Avg Session Duration is stored as decimal seconds and rendered in the dashboard as `m:ss` for readability. All 4 metrics use higher-is-better colour direction — more sessions, more engagement, more time, more interaction all show green when the delta is positive.

## What You Get

* 4 GA4 metrics per month — Sessions, Engaged Sessions, Avg Session Duration, Events Per Session.
* Filtered to organic search traffic only — cross-channel noise excluded.
* Month-over-month deltas on every metric.
* Single API call per run — current and prior period fetched together.
* Avg Session Duration rendered as `m:ss` in the dashboard for readability.
